dosFindApp(string FileType)

Finds the pathname of the application associated with opening files of the specified file extension on Windows or with the specified file creator signature on MacOS.

Parameter :

FileType : On Windows, FileType is a string specifying a file extension without the dot. On Windows, this parameter is case insensitive. For example, pass "txt" to find out the location of the application associated with the "open" command for text files. On MacOS, FileType is a four letter string specifying the creator type. On MacOS, this parameter is case sensitive. For example, pass "MD00" to find out the location of Macromedia Director 7.0.

Return Value : A string containing the pathname of the associated application. For example on Windows, "C:\WINNT\notepad.exe". For example on MacOS, "My Mac:Director 7:Director 7.0". On failure, an empty string is returned in which case dosGetLastError() should be called.

Possible Returned Error Codes via dosGetLastError() :
10001 : Invalid format for parameter 1. On MacOS only, the string passed was not of length 4.
10023 : Associated application not found.
